Tengrinews.kz – The farewell ceremony for Kazakh cosmonaut Talgat Musabayev is being held at the Officers’ House in Almaty.
The ceremony began at 9:00 a.m.

Afterward, a memorial gathering is scheduled to take place at the 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park. Musabayev will be buried at the Kensai Cemetery.

Kazakh cosmonaut Talgat Musabayev passed away on August 4 at the age of 74. He was born on January 7, 1951, in the village of Fabrichnoye (Zhambyl District, Almaty Region). Musabayev was a National Hero of Kazakhstan, a lieutenant general of aviation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and held a doctorate in technical sciences. He completed three space flights and spent a total of 341 days, 9 hours, and 46 minutes in space. During his missions, Musabayev conducted eight spacewalks, totaling 43 hours and 46 minutes.
He also served as Chairman of the National Space Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2007–2016) and as a member of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan (2017–2023).
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his condolences over the passing of the renowned pilot-cosmonaut.
