Tengrinews.kz – The Almaty Department of Emergency Situations has reported that worsening weather is expected on April 8. A storm warning has been issued for the city.
According to the department, the weather will deteriorate at night. Strong winds with gusts up to 18 meters per second and thunderstorms are expected.
"We strongly advise residents, guests, and tourists in the city to take personal safety precautions and avoid hiking in the mountains. Pay attention to the condition of overhead power lines, do not park vehicles under trees, and avoid standing near poorly secured structures," the department recommended.
Kazhydromet provided a more detailed weather forecast for Almaty for the next three days:
- April 8: Partly cloudy, no precipitation. Daytime temperature: +21 to +23°C.
- April 9: Partly cloudy, dry, but windy — 3–5 m/s with gusts up to 13 m/s. Temperature: +8 to +10°C at night, +23 to +25°C during the day.
- April 10: Also dry. Wind shifting from northwest to east at 3–8 m/s, gusts up to 13 m/s. Nighttime temperature: +8 to +10°C, daytime: +18 to +20°C.
