The environmental prosecutor’s office of the Almaty region carried out extensive work to protect state interests in water resource management. During supervisory activities, violations were identified by trust managers who failed to fulfill their contractual obligations to maintain the proper technical condition of the reservoirs. Specifically, they neglected inspections of water management systems and facilities.

"These violations could have led to irreversible consequences for both public health and the environment. As a result of the measures taken, eight contracts with unscrupulous managers were terminated, and the assets were returned to state ownership, valued at over 20 billion tenge," the prosecutor’s office of the Almaty region stated.
