Tengrinews.kz – A whole drug plantation was discovered hidden among a cornfield in Almaty Region, citing Polisia.kz.
A special operation in the Enbekshikazakh district was carried out by the Department for Combating Drug Crime together with the National Security Committee. Instead of the usual agricultural crop, officers found 233 cannabis bushes neatly concealed between rows of corn. Nearby, in a hut, they discovered dozens of test tubes with seeds — a “bank” for future plantings.
According to experts, the total weight of the seized plants exceeded 49 kilograms. The field belonged to a 36-year-old local resident. He was detained, taken to the Shelek police station, and a criminal case was opened.
Police remind that for such a “harvest,” liability comes not as for farming, but as for a serious crime.
