Tengrinews.kz – A touching story happened in the North Kazakhstan region on the eve of Amal Kuni: a policeman and herders saved a drowning camel in a swamp, next to which a female camel with a baby camel was rushing around in alarm.

This incident with a happy ending took place in the Ualikhanov district. It is located in the southeast of the North Kazakhstan region and borders on the Omsk region of Russia, as well as the Pavlodar and Akmola regions. There is a lake in the district called Seletyteniz, the banks of which turn into salt marshes.

This is where the district inspector Serik Amirbekov and herders went in search of horses that had strayed from the herd.

"Moving on snowmobiles, they reached the swampy part of a hard-to-reach island on Lake Seletyteniz. And there they found an unexpected find - they found a camel stuck in the swamp. Nearby were also a female camel with a baby camel, who avoided people, but did not abandon the dying camel, worried about it. Apparently, the animal had been in captivity of the swamp for more than one day. As a result, the policeman and the herders were able to free the camel, pulling out its legs one by one," the first deputy head of the North Kazakhstan region police department, police colonel Askar Mukhametkaliyev, told Tengrinews.kz.

The most surprising thing is that the story did not end there. The police also found the missing horses on the island, as well as an Angus bull. Based on the description and the brand, the police officer and herders found out that this was the animal that had disappeared from a resident of the Pavlodar region almost a year ago. Most likely, the bull had spent all this time here, becoming the local "Robinson".

"The owner was notified of the find and has already taken the bull, warmly thanking the district inspector and residents of the Ualikhanov district. But the camels are still free. Police Major Amirbekov identified their owner, who lives in the capital, but he refused to take the animals," said Askar Mukhametkaliyev.

The press service of the North Kazakhstan Region Police Department also reported that since March 11, the region has been conducting an operational and preventive measure called "Cattle Thief".

All police units are focused on intensified work to uncover and prevent livestock thefts. During the first two days of the OPM, 50 cases of free grazing and 18 violations of veterinary legislation were identified.
