Tengrinews.kz – Local residents reported another drone crash in the Taskalinsky district of West Kazakhstan region, citing "Uralsk week."
This is the second incident of a drone crossing the border into the region.
"This time, a more serious-looking drone, about three meters long, entered our territory," the publication reports.
According to preliminary information, on March 18 at 5:35 PM, the Taskalinsky district police department received a report from residents of the village of Atameken about an unidentified object, presumably a crashed unmanned aerial vehicle. Sappers from Uralsk were dispatched to the crash site.
"The object is 300 centimeters long. Police officers from the Taskalinsky district police department arrived at the scene. Additionally, officials from the district administration and emergency services from the district center of Taskala were also sent to the site," the statement said.
Previously, another unidentified drone crashed in the village of Uyaly, Bokeyordinsky district, WKR. On February 18, local residents discovered a downed drone measuring 120 centimeters in length. The distinctive features of its construction and equipment indicate that it is a Russian Orlan-10 drone.
Regional police have not yet provided any specific information about the incident.
"A case has been initiated under Article 399 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan, concerning the illegal manufacture, acquisition, or use of special technical means for covert information gathering. The necessary examinations have been appointed," police told journalists.
