Dollar exchange rate has fallen in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz – Here is the U.S. dollar exchange rate set during trading in Kazakhstan on August 4.

Following the daytime trading session on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), the weighted average exchange rate for the dollar was 541.82 tenge, down by 1.35 tenge. The official National Bank rate for August 4 stands at 543.24 tenge per dollar.

According to kurs.kz, the current average buying rate for the dollar at exchange offices in Almaty is 539.96 tenge, and the selling rate is 542.27 tenge. In Astana, the dollar is bought at an average of 537.43 tenge and sold at 544.43 tenge.

It is worth noting that on July 31, First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar shared a forecast for the dollar exchange rate in Kazakhstan:

"Our forecast — mine and that of my colleagues — is that the dollar rate will roll back. It won't remain this high. We've seen this many times before, when the rate eventually stabilized. I believe the National Bank will take the necessary measures, and the market will adjust accordingly," he said during a government briefing.
