Tengrinews.kz - The U.S. dollar has weakened again against the tenge.
On August 26, the weighted average exchange rate on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) stood at 533.87 tenge per dollar, down by 2 tenge from the previous session.
For comparison, on July 17, the rate was 532.74 tenge. After that, the dollar strengthened and by July 30 exceeded 550 tenge at exchange offices.
The official rate set by the National Bank for August 26 is 535.99 tenge per dollar.
Exchange office rates
According to kurs.kz, the current average rates at exchange offices are:
- Almaty: buying at 534.79 tenge, selling at 536.78 tenge.
- Astana: buying at 533.87 tenge, selling at 538.88 tenge.
Earlier, analysts from the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan (AFK) forecast the dollar to reach 541.7 tenge by early September and 573 tenge within a year.
