Direct flights will be launched from Astana to all the major cities located within 7 hours of flight time. This was announced by Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov in his Twitter account June 13, Tengrinews.kz reports. “The task set by President Nazarbayev to launch flights from Astana to major cities located within 7 hours of flying time will be accomplished. A sitting on the subject has just been held”, the PM informed. The task had been set by President Nazarbayev April 17. “It is of prime importance to reinforce the national air carrier with modern aircraft and facilitate competition in civil aviation”, Head of State said. “I am looking forward to your suggestions [on launching direct flights to major cities of the world within 7 hours of flying time away from Astana]. (…) Without direct flights it is hard to attract substantial investments”, PM Massimov said following the instruction April 18.
