The anticyclone that brought frosty, precipitation-free weather is leaving Kazakhstan. It is being replaced by a powerful cyclone. Fueled by moist air masses, it will bring precipitation in the form of rain and snow, icy conditions, and blizzards across almost the entire territory of the country.

“Along with precipitation, the cyclone will also bring stronger winds. In the western, northern, and central parts of the country, very strong winds with gusts of 30 meters per second or more are forecast,” meteorologists warned.

Winter in Kazakhstan

This year, the first day of winter passed without precipitation in most regions of Kazakhstan. The country experienced anomalous weather: there was not only no snow cover, but not even a hint of snowfall. According to forecasters, if such weather patterns persist, winters with rare snowfall — or even without snow at all — may become the norm for Kazakhstan.
