Tengrinews.kz - As a result of operational activities in Almaty, employees of the Department of Combating Organized Crime, together with the National Security Committee, coordinated by the prosecutor's office, have dismantled the illegal activities of a security company, whose unofficial workers were members of the criminal underworld, according to Polisia.kz.
The criminals used conflict situations and provocations to seize properties, where they later provided "security."
For example, on November 23 of last year, the suspects, aiming for criminal protection and expanding their influence, stormed into a karaoke bar, where they beat the owner and security guards.
"Ten members of the criminal group were detained, six of whom were placed under arrest. Over 20 search operations were conducted. Firearms and cold weapons were seized. Pre-trial investigations are underway for several cases of hooliganism and abuse of power. The suspects are being checked for involvement in other similar crimes. Work in this area continues," said Kuandyk Alpys, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Department of Combating Organized Crime.
