Tengrinews.kz – The Capital’s Counterterrorism Operations Headquarters has announced that a scheduled anti-terrorism drill will take place in Astana on Friday, April 4.
According to the announcement, the drill will be held at the building of the non-operational Secondary School No. 25 on Ybyray Altynsarin Street from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
"The purpose of the exercise is to assess the readiness of law enforcement and special forces to respond promptly to terrorist threats," the statement said.
It was noted that pedestrian and vehicle movement restrictions will be in place in the area of the drill — specifically, on Imanzhusip Kutpanuly Street from the “Rahymqyzy Raisa Ana” mosque to Altyn-Emel Street, and on Ybyray Altynsarin Street from Goethe Street to Esenberlin Street.
The operations headquarters urged citizens to treat the training activities with understanding, to follow safety measures, comply with the lawful instructions of the state authorities involved, trust only official sources of information, and refrain from spreading false information among the public.
