After the snowfall that occurred on January 22 and 23 in Almaty, 18 centimeters of snow fell, utility services organized large-scale work to remove and clear the snow.
During the night, snow was removed using 161 dump trucks. Since the beginning of the snowfall, 24 thousand cubic meters of snow have been removed. 442 units of special equipment were used, including 175 hired vehicles. The work was carried out by 1280 road workers, of whom 257 were additionally hired.
Work is also continuing to clean sidewalks, public places, public transport stops, and overpasses.
As of the morning of January 24, 448 units of special equipment and 1192 road workers are involved in snow removal. According to weather forecasters, no precipitation is expected today, with daytime temperatures of -10-12 degrees below zero.
Earlier, meteorologists warned Almaty residents of unfavorable meteorological conditions.
