Tengrinews.kz – The Department of Energy and Water Supply of the Almaty Akimat has explained under what conditions the heating season will begin in the city.
When will heating be turned on
The department stated that the decision to start the heating season is made when the average daily outdoor temperature in Almaty reaches +8°C or lower for five consecutive days.
Phased heating activation
According to the Department of Energy and Water Supply, residential buildings will be connected to heating based on an approved schedule.
The phased connection of facilities to the heat supply will follow this order:
- Preschools, schools, medical institutions, vocational schools, and medical-social organizations;
- Residential buildings, dormitories, and hotels;
- Administrative buildings, universities, theaters;
- Other facilities.

According to Kazhydromet, Almaty is expected to experience partly cloudy skies, rain, and thunderstorms over the next three days, with nighttime temperatures from +8°C and daytime highs up to +20°C.
