Tengrinews.kz – Minimum retail prices for cigarettes have increased in Kazakhstan. This is stated in an order by the Minister of Finance.
It should be recalled that in July 2025 the head of the Finance Ministry amended Order No. 196 dated 22 February 2022 “On setting minimum retail prices for filter cigarettes, non-filter cigarettes, papirosy, cigarillos and heated tobacco products.”
According to the order, from 1 January 2026 the minimum retail price for 20 filter cigarettes, non-filter cigarettes, papirosy, cigarillos and heated tobacco products is set at 970 tenge.
It should be noted that from 1 July to 31 December 2025 the minimum price of cigarettes was 920 tenge.
In addition, from 2026 all current excise rates on excisable goods in Kazakhstan will increase by 10 percent under the new Tax Code. This also applies to cigarettes. The rate will be 18,051 tenge per 1,000 pieces and will continue to rise step by step in subsequent years, reaching 25,607 tenge per 1,000 cigarettes from 2030.
