Tengrinews.kz – China will provide Kazakhstan with a free grant of 100 million yuan, equivalent to 7.5 billion tenge at the current exchange rate. The corresponding draft resolution appeared on the Open NPA website.
The document, which ratifies a previously signed agreement between Kazakhstan and China, was published by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry.
Under the terms of the agreement, China will grant Kazakhstan 100 million yuan (7.5 billion tenge, or about 14 million U.S. dollars). The funds will be directed toward the development of the aerospace industry.
Other goals of the agreement include the development of technical and economic cooperation between the two countries and attracting additional investment to Kazakhstan.
The draft resolution will remain open for public discussion until August 24.
As a reminder: in May, Senator Andrey Lukin requested 40 billion tenge for a space satellite, stating that “Kazakhstan should move beyond the role of a “spacefaring landlord” and become an active participant in the global space industry.”
Last year, the head of the Digital Ministry, Zhaslan Madiev, announced that in 2025 Kazakhstan plans to launch a domestic carrier rocket to gain independent access to space. According to global experience, this could require around 60 million U.S. dollars.
