Tengrinews.kz - Promoting spiritual diplomacy and strengthening interfaith dialogue were key topics discussed by Maulen Ashimbayev, Speaker of the Kazakh Senate, during meetings with Chinese politicians and religious leaders.
"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has repeatedly emphasized the importance of President Xi Jinping's idea of a 'community with a shared future for mankind,' whose relevance continues to grow amid today’s global challenges. Kazakhstan has also introduced several international initiatives aimed at promoting peace and cooperation. One of these is the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which has become a recognized platform for fostering interfaith dialogue and uniting spiritual leaders to address pressing global issues. We highly appreciate China’s support and the active participation of your representatives in the congress," said Ashimbayev.
Participants of the meeting highlighted that in the face of modern geopolitical challenges, the congress contributes to addressing global, environmental, and spiritual issues through spiritual diplomacy. The role of goodwill ambassadors of the congress and the forum for young religious leaders was also noted in this context.
Shi Taifeng, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, praised Kazakhstan’s efforts to promote interreligious dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. He expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with Kazakhstan within the framework of the congress.
Further discussions on new formats and mechanisms for cooperation, conflict prevention, and resolution were held during meetings between Kazakh parliamentarians, Chinese experts, and Kazakh students. Ashimbayev emphasized that constructive collaboration and mutual respect between the two countries open new horizons for joint projects and help address pressing issues.
Additionally, the Kazakh Senate delegation visited Zhejiang Province, where they met with the regional governor and toured several innovative IT companies, including Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group Co., Ltd., a global leader in cloud computing and artificial intelligence development.

Previously, Ashimbayev discussed prospects for strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and implementing joint projects with the Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning.
