Tengrinews.kz - Many Kazakhstanis prefer traveling by bus for cross-border trips, especially for spontaneous or urgent journeys. Tengrinews.kz has gathered information on the current bus routes from Kazakhstan to China.
In response to an official inquiry from Tengrinews.kz, the Ministry of Transport provided the following information.
"To facilitate passenger transportation between Kazakhstan and China, both sides are currently negotiating establishing regular international bus services. As of now, the following routes are operational with the People’s Republic of China: Shymkent – Urumqi, Almaty – Urumqi, Almaty – Tacheng, Taldykorgan – Urumqi, Zharkent – Khorgos, Zharkent – Yining, Dostyk – Alashankou, Chundzha – Urumqi, Korday – Urumqi, Semey – Urumqi, Urjar – Tacheng, Zaisan – Jimunai, Almaty – Yining, Irgeli – Urumqi, and Astana – Urumqi," the ministry stated.
The ministry also noted that for international transport permissions, carriers must submit an application to the Committee of Road Transport and Transport Control.
Previously, the Ministry of Transport responded to the question of launching extra trains during the New Year holidays and on Independence Day.
