Tengrinews.kz - Vehicle checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-China border will be closed for about a week.
According to the press service of the State Revenue Committee, due to the Spring Festival in China, the passage of individuals, vehicles, and goods through vehicle checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-China border will be suspended from 8:00 PM on January 27 to 8:00 AM on February 1.
Railway checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-China border will continue to operate as usual.
Transporters and travelers are advised to cross the border in advance and plan their routes considering the restrictions in place.
Chinese New Year, also known as Chun Jie or the Spring Festival, is the most significant holiday for the Chinese people and has been celebrated for over two thousand years. It falls on the first new moon of the first month of the year, between January 12 and February 19.
