Astana to host Astana mining & metallurgy Congress July 4-6

July 4-6, Astana will be hosting the II international «Astana mining & metallurgy (АММ)» Congress, Albert Rau, First Vice Minister of Industry and New Technology, told a briefing today, Bnews.kz reported. “We are confident the event will accomplish the tasks we have set. It is great that the mining industry enjoys this forum to attend to its pressing issues at least one a year”, Mr. Rau said. President Nazarbayev is expected to be one of the key speakers at the event. The Congress is bound to result in signing of a range of memoranda, contracts among state-run enterprises, business community and research organizations. According to him, the mining industry is a key part of the State Programme for Accelerated Industrial & Innovative Development (PAIID). Ministry of Industry and New Technology will be acting on behalf of the Kazakhstan’s Government to arrange the event. ASTANA MINING & METALLURGY Congress is an important event in mining and metallurgical industry, which annually represents and unites interests of business, government, and science. The First Congress AMM-2010 was held in June 2010 in Astana and received extensive feedback from international industrial society.
