Astana cycling team established a scholarship for young Kazakhstan cyclists. Six top sportsmen will receive maintenance allowances every month, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Cycling Federation. Distribution of scholarships will depend on results of their training. The cyclist winning the first place at the end of the month will receive a bonus of 400 Euro, the second best young sportsman of the month will be given 300 Euro as a motivation, the third best cyclist will recieve 250 Euro, the forth - 200 Euro, the fifth – 150 Euro and the sixth – 100 Euro. “Young sportsmen of the national team are becoming less confident in their chances of getting into the Astana team and so they don't see the point to keep cycling,” said Commercial Director of the team Aidar Makhmetov. “This scholarship is not very large, but we are sure that financial support is not as important as the attention to the results of the sportsmen and bolstering them as potential cyclists of Astana team. The first allowances were paid to young cyclists on May 25. The best cyclists of Kazakhstan national team will be awarded with 2010 bonuses in June. Arman Kamyshev will receive 1,000 Euro, Nikita Umerbekov – 500 Euro and Daniil Fominykh – 300 Euro for three best results.
