Arctic air mass approaching

According to meteorologists, a northwestern cold anticyclone will dominate most of the country, bringing an end to precipitation and a sharp drop in temperatures as Arctic air masses arrive.

“Only southern regions are expected to see precipitation, at times heavy, mainly in the form of rain. Strong winds, icy conditions and fog are also forecast,” weather experts said.

Temperatures to plunge

Nighttime temperatures are expected to fall significantly across the country:

  • In western regions: from -15°C to -25°C
  • In northern and central regions: down to -28°C to -37°C
  • In eastern regions: from -32°C to -40°C
  • In southern regions: from 0°C to -10°C

Forecasters warn that the most intense cold will affect the north, center and east of Kazakhstan, with extreme frost expected in some areas.
