April 12, 2011: In the afternoon Prime-Minister toured all the county's regions to appoint mayors and governors. Kostanai oblast was the first on in the list. Sergey Kulagin, 58, was re-appointed Akim (Governor) of Kostanay Oblast. He has been retaining the position since March 2004. Earlier he served as Akmola Oblast Governor, Vice-Prime-Minister and Minister of Agriculture. Serik Bilyalov, 53, was re-appointed Akim (Governor) of North Kazakhstan oblast. He has been serving as Akim of the oblast from October 2007. Sergey Dyachenko, 59, has retained his position of Akim (Governor) of Akmola oblast. He has been initially appointed Akim of the oblast in March 2010. Formerly he used to be Speaker of the Majilis (Lower chamber of the Parliament). Serik Akhmetov, 52, was re-appointed Akim (Governor) of Karaganda oblast. He has been serving as Akim of the oblast from November 2009. Formerly he used to be Vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. Imangali Tasmagambetov, 55, has retained his position of Astana Akim (Mayor). He has been governing the country capital since April 2008. Formerly he used to be the President's assistant, Akim of Atyrau oblast, Premier-Minister and Akim of Almaty. Bolatbek Kuandykov, 42, was re-appointed Akim (Governor) of Kyzylorda oblast. He was introduced by the head of the Presidential Administration Aslan Musin. Bolatbek Kuandykov has been heading the oblast since May 2008. Berdibek Saparbayev, 58, also retained his position as Akim (Governor) of East Kazakhstan oblast. He has been heading the region for three years already. Bakytzhan Sagintayev, 47, was re-appointed Akim (Governor) of Pavlodar oblast. He has been heading the oblast for 2.5 years already. April 13, 2011: Yeleusin Sagindikov, 63, was re-appointed Akim (Governor) of Aktobe oblast, Interfax-Kazakhstan reported. He was intorduced by Aslan Musin, head of the Presidential Administration. The former Senator has been governing the region since July 2004. Askar Myrzakhmetov, 49, retained his position as Akim (Governor) of South Kazakhstan oblast, the region's press-service reports. He was introduced today by Prime-Minister Massimov. Myrzakhmetov has been heading the region since March 2009. Earlier he served as an ambassador to Uzbekistan, advisor to the Prime-Minister and headed departments in the Agricultural Ministry. Krymbek Kusherbayev, 55, was re-appinted Akim (Governor) of Mangistau oblast, Interfax-Kazakhstan reported. He was intorduced by head of the Presidential Administration Aslan Musin. Kusherbayev has been heading the region since 2006. Kanat Bozumbayev, 42, was re-appointed Akim (Governor) of Zhambyl Oblast. He has been heading the region since November 2009. Anzar Musakhanov, 45, replaced Serik Umbetov as Akim (Governor) of Almaty oblast. He was introduced by Karim Massimov. Before his appointement he served as deputy governor of Almaty oblast. Akhmetzhan Yesimov, 61, was re-appointed Akim (Mayor) of Almaty city. He was introduced by Prime-Minister Massimov. He is heading the city administration since April 2008.
