Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has released the weather forecast for Kazakhstan for March 20, 21, and 22. Despite the arrival of spring, northern regions are expected to face another cold spell.
After a brief warming period, a cold anticyclone will begin moving into the north, pushing out the current cyclone, which will bring rain, snow, icy conditions, and strong winds with blizzards on March 21.
"By March 22, the anticyclone will reach northern regions, bringing an end to precipitation and nighttime temperatures dropping to -5 to -10°C. The anticyclone will also affect southern Kazakhstan, pushing frontal systems toward the mountains, causing rain and lower temperatures," meteorologists reported.
Earlier, Kazhydromet had predicted that March 2025 would be warmer than usual, with precipitation levels exceeding the norm in most of the country. Average temperatures are expected to be 2 degrees above normal, with higher-than-average rainfall across most regions and near-normal levels in the southwest and south.
