Tengrinews.kz - A new principle of street transformation is being introduced in Almaty - "from facade to facade." This was announced by Almaty's akim (governor) Erbolat Dossaev during a session of the city maslikhat, which is considering the city budget for 2025-2027.

According to the akim of Almaty, in developed megacities of the world, comprehensive improvement of streets is carried out according to the principle "from facade to facade" with the modernization of all infrastructure layers.

"For the first time in Almaty, we are starting to apply this international experience," the head of the city said.

As the akim specified, according to the principle "from facade to facade", the design for the transformation of Dostyk Avenue from Al-Farabi Avenue to Kurmangazy Street and Pushkin Street from Gogol Street to Raimbek Avenue has been completed.

Construction, Dossaev noted, will begin in March 2025. 3.7 billion tenge have been allocated for these purposes.

"In 2025, the design of 7 more streets will be completed - Radostovets, Makataev, Auezov, Gogol, Zhandosov, Rozybakiev and Satpaev. According to the information of the Almatygenplan Research Institute, the design work provides for a comprehensive transformation of the city infrastructure: the streets will be equipped with modern pedestrian paths that ensure the safety and comfort of movement of city residents. Comfortable benches, gazebos, and trash cans with the installation of new lighting poles will appear on the sidewalks," the head of Almaty shared the plans.

All work, he noted, will be carried out taking into account modern standards of improvement to ensure comfort, environmental friendliness, and attractiveness of the urban environment for residents and guests of the metropolis.
