Tengrinews.kz - Ile-Alatau State National Nature Park has announced the closure of access to Lake Issyk until the end of March.
The park administration published an official statement on its website.
"Based on a letter from the Almaty Region Passenger Transport and Highways Department No. 01-24-07/61-I dated January 23, 2025, access to Lake Issyk through the checkpoint will be prohibited for all visitors to the national park from January 27, 2025, to March 31, 2025, to prevent snow avalanches and emergencies," the publication states.
However, it is noted that access to the national park via the Turgen forestry checkpoint on the Turgen–Observatory route is allowed for hikers as well as light, cargo, and passenger vehicles from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Entry is prohibited from 6:00 PM to 10:00 AM.
"We kindly ask you to take this information into account when planning your visit," the statement reads.
