Tengrinews.kz - A briefing in Aktau provided updates on the December 25 plane crash, where questions arose regarding the fate of the aircraft's wreckage.
Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev explained that the wreckage will be examined to establish the sequence of events leading to the crash.
"The wreckage will be studied to determine the chronology of events and what caused the uproar. This includes working with the Embraer company to understand why the crash occurred. As for restricting access to the site, including for journalists, I asked for the area to be kept clear during my visit today. Investigative actions need to be conducted properly—any small piece of evidence could be crucial," Bozumbayev clarified.
Earlier, Timur Suleimenov announced that the black box of the Embraer 190 passenger plane had been recovered.
All Kazakhstani citizens aboard the Embraer 190 have been confirmed dead.
The Azerbaijan Airlines flight, en route from Baku (Azerbaijan) to Grozny (Russia), crashed three kilometers from Aktau at 11:30 A.M. local time on December 25. The passenger plane was unable to land in Grozny due to heavy fog and was first diverted to Makhachkala before being redirected to Aktau.
