Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued an air pollution warning for Almaty, Astana, and several other cities across the country.
"On April 9, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Kokshetau, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Aktobe, Almaty, and overnight in Astana," Kazhydromet reported.
Unfavorable weather conditions refer to a combination of short-term meteorological factors such as calm winds, fog, or temperature inversions, which contribute to the accumulation of pollutants in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
Almaty: Warm and dry
April 9 – Partly cloudy, no precipitation. Light eastern wind at 3–8 m/s. Temperatures will range from +8 to +10°C at night and +20 to +22°C during the day.
Astana: Fog, light rain, and warmer weather
April 9 – Partly cloudy with a chance of light rain during the day. Fog expected at night and in the morning. Southwesterly wind: 3–8 m/s at night, up to 12 m/s during the day. Temperatures will range from +3 to +5°C at night and up to +18 to +20°C during the day.
