Air-control sensors to be installed in Ust-Kamenogorsk

Air pollution tracking sensors will be installed in Ust-Kamenogorsk, a Tengrinews.kz journalist reports. Moi Gorod (My City) social fund and Russian producer of environment control systems SoyuzAtomPribor have signed a contract today. The company will install a region-wide automated tracking system for industrial and ecological monitoring of potentially hazardous enterprises and general state of Ust-Kamenogorsk city’s air. The tracking equipment will be fed by the data collected and transmitted by SkyLINK network, Ust-Kamenogorsk Akim’s (Mayor’s) press-service announced. 18 sensors will be installed in Ust-Kamenogorsk to track air condition, Akim of Ust-Kamenogorsk Islam Abishev said. “We will be getting a clear picture of the atmosphere condition around our oil plant, silk plant and other industrial platforms. The most important is that we will know exactly what steps should be taken to improve the situation,” said the governor. According to the local authorities the project will be funded by Moi Gorod social fund and the system will start operating by the Constitution Day, August 30, this year.
