Tengrinews.kz – During a working trip to Almaty, the President visited the GITEX AI Central Asia & Caucasus exhibition, citing Akorda.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev toured the international technology exhibition, which is part of the global GITEX ecosystem, one of the world’s largest platforms in the field of digital technologies and innovation.

During the visit, the President was briefed on the capabilities of the Al-Farabium supercomputer, which already hosts dozens of projects. These include the introduction of an AI assistant at Kazakhtelecom JSC’s contact center for the automatic processing of customer requests without operator involvement.
This digital solution determines whether a call is legitimate or fraudulent, transfers it to an anti-fraud call center, helps identify sources for further reporting to law enforcement agencies, and provides large-scale protection for citizens.

“The President was also briefed on projects in the banking system aimed at creating a regulated, transparent and scalable digital asset ecosystem, developing infrastructure — a crypto hub — and providing a full range of services for the public and businesses,” Akorda’s press service noted.
As part of the development of the digital asset market, financial instruments are expected to be issued in the form of tokens based on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).
In addition, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with the KEDEN and SmartCargo information systems, as well as digital projects in transport and logistics.
In particular, the unified digital platform KEDEN is designed to optimize and improve customs control processes.

“SmartCargo is a single digital window for logistics services, integrating customs, transport, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, pharmaceutical and trade regulation services. The National Road Geoportal (KazMaps) is a unified digital map of Kazakhstan’s roads for infrastructure monitoring and management,” Akorda said in a statement.
President Tokayev also reviewed Almaty’s IT ecosystem and digital solutions being implemented in education and personnel training, child safety, public order and road traffic. He was also shown the first children’s science museum in Central Asia.
More than 600 international companies are taking part in GITEX AI Central Asia & Caucasus 2026, including global technology leaders such as Cisco, Cloudflare, Google Cloud, Huawei, Dell, H3C Technologies, Lenovo, Trend Micro, Hikvision, HP, Noventiq, Redington, Salesforce, Vertiv and others.
It should be noted that on May 4, the second meeting of the Council for the Development of Artificial Intelligence was held in Almaty under the chairmanship of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The President noted that the world had entered a qualitatively new stage of technological transformation.
According to him, the changes taking place are incomparable to the industrial revolutions of the 19th and 20th centuries in terms of speed and depth, as they are erasing the boundaries between physical reality and the digital space
