Tengrinews.kz - An official welcoming ceremony was held at Akorda for General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, who is on a state visit to Kazakhstan.
Following formal talks with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the meeting continued in an informal setting.
As a gesture of friendship and respect, the Kazakh side presented traditional chapan robes to To Lam and his wife, who accompanied him on the trip.

President Tokayev also awarded the General Secretary the Dostyk Order of the First Class.
The Kazakh leader emphasized the warm and friendly ties between Kazakhstan and Vietnam, which have deep historical roots. He recalled that in 1959, the first President of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, visited Kazakhstan — a trip that laid the groundwork for the development of strong and multifaceted relations between the two countries.
