Tengrinews.kz – “Our goal is to create a professional Parliament.” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed this view while speaking at the dialogue platform of rural akims in Astana, according to Akorda.
During his speech, the President stated that truly qualified and experienced specialists must enter the legislative body.
“Our goal is to create a professional Parliament. We should also consider forming new committees. I believe that committees on digitalization and regional development should operate as separate units. All these issues will be carefully examined by a special working group. There are many other reform proposals that will be thoroughly reviewed and then published. I also have a number of proposals on this important topic,” the President of Kazakhstan said.
He also stated that the number of amendments to the Basic Law could be very large.
“Therefore, it would not be wrong to say that in the referendum, the people will essentially be voting for a new Constitution. In such a difficult and responsible period, it is especially important to maintain peace and stability in the country. Our joint efforts should be directed toward implementing the concept of ‘Law and Order.’ Law enforcement agencies must demonstrate professionalism, prevent provocations, and stop attempts to engage in ‘shadow’ political activity,” the Head of State emphasized.
