Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was briefed on the crime situation in the country.
Minister Yerzhan Sadenov reported that since the beginning of the year, crime rates have decreased: the number of offenses dropped by four thousand, and the number of crimes by seven thousand. There has been a reduction in violations in public places and among minors. Crime detection rates have also imcreased.
The President was informed about the progress in implementing his directives to combat organized crime, cybercrime, and drug-related offenses, ensure road safety, and enhance the personnel capacity of law enforcement agencies.
"The minister discussed the implementation of the "Law and Order" principle and measures for preventing offenses. During this period, there was a 45% increase in the prevention of administrative violations, including a 30% rise in cases of minor hooliganism and a 47% increase in traffic violations. Twice as many people had their driving licenses revoked," the Akorda press service reported.
The President was also provided on the conditions in the penal system institutions.
"As a result of the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev issued several instructions aimed at further improving law enforcement and public safety in the country," the Akorda statement said.
Earlier, President Tokayev amended the military regulations.
