According to the deputy, after the reaction of Kazakhstanis to his recent post on social networks, he suggested that all concerned people meet and talk.
"I addressed the haters, those who could, who left some feedback, I addressed them, said, let's gather without emotions, if there is a need, I am ready to meet, to explain my point of view. The thing is, this is not my point of view. These are not some individual deputies. This is a scientific consensus. There are recommendations of The International Alliance for Natural Time, there are scientific studies. The government did not make the decision just like that, only because of my parliamentary request. There was a government commission working there, there are conclusions of several scientific institutions. The commission began working long before my parliamentary request," said Erkin Abil on the sidelines of the Mazhilis.
He admitted that he was initially against a single time zone, but then changed his mind.
"I was against it because I didn't have reliable scientific research on hand. (...) I studied it, I looked at it, there is a good analysis of the impact on people's health. And in general, there is a recommendation, including to some European countries, to return to natural time. Not to switch to summer/winter time, so that midday is exactly at 12 o'clock, preferably. This is natural time," said Abil.
According to the Mazhilis member, there are supporters of natural time in Kazakhstan.
"Are you personally comfortable with this schedule?" journalists asked him.
"I feel comfortable," the deputy answered briefly.
Earlier, Kazakhstanis "attacked" the Facebook of the initiator of the time zone change - Mazhilis deputy Erkin Abil. The Mazhilis member published a post on social networks in which he once again spoke about maintaining a single time zone in Kazakhstan and "explained obvious things for the last time." However, Kazakhstanis did not support him.
