Tengrinews.kz - On February 6 at 11:00 AM, sirens sounded in Almaty. A Tengrinews.kz correspondent found out the reason behind it.

According to the Almaty Emergency Situations Department (ESD), a technical check of the city's alert system was conducted this morning as part of the nationwide command and staff exercise "Koktem-2025."

During the alert system check, a brief activation of the city's technical alert system was planned.

The sound signal "Attention Everyone!" is a warning signal used to attract public attention before transmitting all emergency messages in case of a threat or emergency.

"The technical check of Almaty's alert system is aimed at maintaining the readiness of the alert equipment and ensuring the protection of the population from potential emergencies. Alerting and informing the public about emergencies is a key safety measure that helps protect residents from the negative consequences of an accident or destructive impact caused by various natural factors," the ESD reported.

Earlier, the Ministry for Emergency Situations had warned that sirens would sound in 11 regions of Kazakhstan on the morning of February 6.
