Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan has denied the statement of the pilot of the plane detained in Finland, who claimed that he was flying to our country.

The Civil Aviation Committee has not confirmed the information about the plans of a private aircraft with Lithuanian registration to fly to Kazakhstan. The department's official response to our request states that no application for permission to perform a non-scheduled flight has been received.

"According to the available information, the committee has not received an application for permission to perform a non-scheduled flight of an aircraft with registration number LY-ARA," the CAC noted.

Earlier, Beechcraft B55 Baron aircraft, detained at Helsinki Airport on December 4, raised suspicions among Finnish authorities about possible sanctions evasion. Initially, it was reported that the aircraft was heading to the Russian city of Pskov. However, Latvian pilot Robertas Petkus, who was on board, said that the final destination of the flight was Kazakhstan, where he allegedly planned to develop aviation projects.
