Tengrinews.kz - Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zharasbayev spoke about the task facing Kazakhstani athletes at the Asian Games in Harbin (China).
Earlier, Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabossynov said that at the 2025 Asian Games, the Kazakhstan national team is counting on gold medals in speed skating, short track, skiing and biathlon. The Deputy Minister announced the place that the team should take in the medal standings.
"The athletes were trained at a fairly high level, and the head coaches took on high obligations. At a minimum, we must enter the top five," Zharasbayev said after the ministry's board meeting on the results of 2024.
At the previous Asian Winter Games, which were held in Japan in 2017, the Kazakhstan team won 32 medals and took 4th place in the overall team standings.
The 2025 Asian Games will be held in Harbin, China, from February 7 to 14. Kazakhstan will have 138 athletes participating in 10 sports.
