Tengrinews.kz - Meteorologists from Kazhydromet have warned the residents of Almaty and Shymkent.

Tengrinews.kz - Meteorologists from Kazhydromet have warned the residents of Almaty and Shymkent.

"On January 9, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions leading to air pollution are expected in the cities of Almaty, Shymkent, and Zhezkazgan," the statement says.

Unfavorable weather conditions are a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm winds, weak winds, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the near-surface layer of the atmosphere.

Earlier, meteorologists shared the expected weather conditions for January in Kazakhstan.
