Kazakhstan considering introduction of mobile number portability

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Communications and Information is discussing introduction of mobile number portability, Minister Askar Zhumagaliyev wrote in his Twitter account. Mobile number portability (MNP) enables mobile telephone users to retain their mobile telephone numbers when changing from one mobile network operator to another. According to Bnews.kz, in the post-soviet area MNP is available in the Baltic States and Georgia. Azerbaijan and Ukraine are expected to launch the novelty this year.
