Tengrinews.kz - A heavy snowfall that began on the night of January 8 continues in Almaty. According to the city administration, 14 centimeters of snow have already fallen in the metropolis. The snowfall is expected to persist until 11:00 AM, as reported by the city administration's press service.
Even heavier snowfall occurred at the Kamen Plateau, where 22 centimeters of snow were recorded, and at Shymbulak, with 20 centimeters.
The total precipitation over the past day accounted for 26% of the monthly norm.
In Almaty, 475 units of special equipment and 1,115 road workers have been deployed to clear the snow.
According to forecasters, the daytime temperature in Almaty on January 8 will range from 0 to 2 degrees Celsius, dropping after 12 PM to -5 to -7 degrees, and falling further to -11 to -13 degrees at night.
No precipitation is expected until January 13.
