Tengrinews.kz - Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tamara Duisenova promised to consider the proposal from Amanat party deputies regarding the return to the previous time zone in Kazakhstan.

At a government briefing, Duisenova was asked whether the old time zone would be reinstated. She responded that it is important to wait and assess the impact of the time change on the lives of Kazakhstanis.

"Over the past 10 years, a large group of specialists and experts has worked on the transition to a different time zone. Last year, there was a proposal to switch to a single time zone, and now the parliamentary body has raised this issue for consideration. However, less than a year has passed since the transition to the current time zone, so it is important to evaluate the consequences of this change," said Tamara Duisenova.

The official added that there have been no noticeable fluctuations in healthcare or electricity usage since the time change.

"Therefore, let’s review these proposals and the arguments presented by the deputies. Based on their suggestions, we will consider the issue and provide a response through the relevant government agencies that handle these matters," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Recall that on September 6, Mazhilis deputies Maksat Tolykbayev, Rinat Zaitov, Nurtay Sabilyanov, Lukbek Tumashinov, and Samat Nurtaza recorded a video appeal to the citizens of Kazakhstan, proposing the return to the previous time zone in the country.
