Tengrinews.kz – Meteorologists have published an advisory weather forecast for December in Kazakhstan.
According to Kazhydromet, the last month of the year will generally be warmer than the climatic norm.
Temperature
In December, the average monthly air temperature is expected to be 1–2 degrees above normal across most of the country. Temperatures will be close to normal in the Turkistan, Zhambyl, Almaty, and Zhetysu regions, in the south of the Karaganda and Abai regions, and in the southeast of the Kyzylorda region and the Ulytau region.
The average monthly air temperature will be: –6…–14°C across most of Kazakhstan, –15…–16°C in the far east, –5…+2°C in the southwest, south, and southeast of the country.
Precipitation
The amount of precipitation in December is forecast to be around normal across most of the country. Below-normal precipitation is expected in most of the Kyzylorda region, in the southeast of the Aktobe region, in the southwest of the Kostanay region, and in the western part of the Ulytau region.
Wind and atmospheric pressure
Winds will be predominantly northwesterly, moderate, with strong gusts in open steppe and mountainous areas. Atmospheric pressure will be unstable, with possible short-term blizzards and wind strengthening.
Climate features
In some regions, temperatures will be above the climatic norm, which may affect snow and ice conditions. Southern and southwestern areas may experience rain and wet snow. In the mountains, precipitation and wind may cause difficulties for traffic on passes and roads.
