Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
The Head of State was briefed on the progress in implementing his instructions on economic reforms and further improving citizens’ well-being.
Olzhas Bektenov reported on the preliminary results of the country’s socio-economic development for 2025. As a result of the President’s tasks to diversify the economy, more than 70 percent of GDP growth is now generated by industry, trade, and transport.
From January to November of this year, growth in the transport services sector amounted to 20.3 percent, in construction to 14.7 percent, in trade to 8.8 percent, in agriculture to 6.1 percent, and in manufacturing to 5.9 percent.
Investment in fixed assets reached 18.5 trillion tenge, with inflows of private investment increasing by 9.8 percent.
The Prime Minister also reported on the implementation of the Joint Action Program of the Government, the National Bank, and the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market on macroeconomic stabilization and improving the welfare of the population for 2026–2028.
The priority is to ensure that GDP growth is accompanied by an increase in real household incomes and an improved standard of living. Measures to reduce inflation are envisaged.
Bektenov stated that in December the modernization of five border crossing points on the external border was completed. A register of Kazakhstani manufacturers has been launched. A unified program to support small business, “Isker aimak,” has been adopted.
The head of government reported on the scheduled progress of the heating season, as well as early financing of the 2026 sowing campaign to maintain and further increase crop volumes, with an emphasis on processing and exporting agricultural products.
The President instructed that work continue to ensure the country’s stable further development in the interests of its citizens. He issued a number of further instructions on attracting investment, supporting entrepreneurship, and modernizing engineering and transport infrastructure.
