Tengrinews.kz — The Almaty Department for Emergency Situations has issued an important warning to city residents.
On December 15, a sharp deterioration in weather conditions is expected in Almaty, with fog and icy roads forecast.
“Due to a sudden change in weather conditions on December 15, icy conditions are expected on city roads, snowfall in mountainous areas, and a drop in air temperatures,” the statement said.
Recommendations from emergency services
Adjust your routes taking road conditions into account. To avoid injuries during icy conditions, follow these simple recommendations:
- Watch your step, especially on stairways and at building entrances;
- Choose footwear with non-slip, textured soles;
- Do not keep your hands in your pockets, as this helps maintain balance;
- Be especially careful at bus stops, on sidewalks, steps, and other slippery surfaces, which are high-risk areas.
