Tengrinews.kz - A resident of Astana has reported that her 7-year-old son was nearly thrown from a balcony by other children in their residential complex. The mother is calling for those responsible to be held accountable.

The mother shared the details with Tengrinews.kz, stating that the incident occurred on September 8.

"Around 5 p.m., a group of neighborhood children tried to throw my 7-year-old from the 12th-floor balcony, but then decided to attempt from the third floor instead. Miraculously, they didn’t go through with it, as my older son, who is 10, was nearby and tried to protect his brother. Both of my children were in shock and couldn't believe their 'friends' would actually try to harm them," the mother recounted.

She further claimed that her son was "forced onto his knees and dragged around like an animal" and has since reported the incident to the police.

When contacted for comment, the police department confirmed that an investigation is underway.

"The incident has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing. All individuals involved have been identified, and the circumstances are being clarified in the presence of their legal guardians. Appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with the law," police officials stated.

Tengrinews.kz has also reached out to the city's education department for further comment.
