90 percent in Kazakhstan trust Nazarbayev

88.8 percent of Kazakhstan residents trust Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Tengrinews.kz reports as said at Kazakhstan after elections press-conference in the Institute of Political Solutions (IPS). Sociologists of IPS presented the results of the survey called Social health in Kazakhstan cities held in the middle of April in 16 major Kazakhstan cities. 2293 people were interviewed. Personal rating of Prime-Minister Karim Massimov reached its maximum 65.5 percent since the beginning of the year. The Government's rating reached 61.1 percent. “43 percent of Kazakhstan residents expect their financial conditions will improve. 45.2 percent of respondents strongly believe that economic situation in improving,” said Madina Nurgaliyeva from IPS. 56.3 percent have positive emotional attitude. However, experts say that in spite of the general optimism, level of the people's anxiety and fears is also high. 64.5 percent of Kazakhstan residents still worry about prices and utilities costs rise. Besides, people worry about unemployment, health and quality of medical services. Every 20th resident said that they have enough money for everything. As for the situation after presidential elections, 63.4 percent of respondents are positive about April 3 elections. 80.1 percent of the residents said that the election results are objective. Associating nuclear plant construction in Kazakhstan with Fukushima disaster, 60 percent of the country residents tag such nuclear projects as very dangerous. Every fifth resident understands that nuclear energy is a must for successful functioning of the energy system in general. Every fifth respondent liked the idea of possible amnesty of convicts in honor of 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence. 41.2 percent of population are against a large-scale amnesty. Kazakhstan residents are skeptical about parliamentary elections.
