A total of 77 Kazakhstan’s citizens may still be staying in Japan, Tengrinews.kz journalist reports, citing the Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry. According to the Ministry, these people have decided to stay in Japan. Ilyas Omarov, the Foreign Ministry’s spokesman, said that before the 2nd plane sent to Japan [which brought back to Kazakhstan 24 citizens], there were a total of 101 Kazakhstan’s citizens staying in Japan. Most of the Kazakhstanis stay in the South – on Hokkaido – or in the North. They see no threat to their life and opted to stay. The Foreign Ministry recommends Kazakhstanis willing to leave for Japan to contact the Kazakh embassy in Tokyo for consultations and file for consular registration upon arrival.
