Tengrinews.kz - A 4-year-old child was poisoned at a kindergarten in Ekibastuz after drinking acetone.
The boy, who suffered burns, was taken to the hospital. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the police. The emergency call was received on August 15, and the medical team arrived on the scene within six minutes.
"The child, born in 2019, was hospitalized with poisoning from a chemical substance. The boy sustained chemical burns to his mouth cavity and throat," reported the Department of Healthcare of Pavlodar Region.
Medics reported that the baby was taken to hospital from kindergarten.
"It is confirmed that the child received chemical burns at Kindergarten No. 24 in Ekibastuz. The child is currently receiving medical treatment at Ekibastuz City Hospital. An investigation is underway, and the Education Department is conducting an internal review. Appropriate measures will be taken according to the law based on the results," said Laura Disyupova, head of the Ekibastuz Education Department.
