Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet forecasters have presented the weather forecast for 20, 21 and 22 January.

Snow and blizzards to hit Kazakhstan

According to the forecast, over the next three days, under the influence of atmospheric frontal systems, most of Kazakhstan will see snow, blowing/drifting snow, and strengthening winds. In the south of the country, precipitation will fall as rain and snow, and on 22 January heavy snow is expected in mountainous areas.

Fog is expected in parts of Kazakhstan, with icy conditions (black ice) in the south and south-east of the country.

38-degree frosts to return

On 22 January, a cold anticyclone shifting in from the Novaya Zemlya area will influence the northern half of Kazakhstan, lowering air temperatures in these regions to −25…−38 °C at night and −20…−30 °C during the day.

In the west, southwest, south and southeast of Kazakhstan, temperatures will gradually rise. During the day, temperatures in the southern regions will reach −5…+3 °C, in mountainous areas −8…−13 °C, and in the west of the country −5…−13 °C.
