Tengrinews.kz - 25 criminal cases have been initiated against leaders and members of criminal schemes and organized crime groups in Kazakhstan since the beginning of 2025, according to Polisia.kz.
"Since the beginning of the year, 25 criminal cases have been initiated against leaders and members of criminal structures, including four cases involving OCGs with transnational ties, one case of creating a criminal organization, and, for the first time, a pre-trial investigation into the establishment and leadership of a transnational criminal association," the report states.
The individuals involved in these cases are members of the criminal underworld linked to serious and particularly serious crimes both in Kazakhstan and abroad.
"Together with the National Security Committee, the State Security Service, and the General Prosecutor’s Office, a comprehensive effort is underway to gather evidence, including at the international level. More than 100 individuals are being held accountable," said Kuanlyk Alpys, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Department for Combating Organized Crime.
